Elif Küpeli, MD, Professor

About Me

I was born on January 24, 1975, in Ankara. I completed my primary, secondary, and high school education at TED Ankara College between 1982-1992.

Prof. Dr. Ayşe Elif Küpeli

I graduated and got my medical doctor license from Gazi University School of Medicine in 1998. Between 1999-2003, I completed my pulmonary residency training in the Department of Pulmonary Diseases at Ankara University School of Medicine. In 2000, I worked as an 'observer doctor' at the Cleveland Clinic in the United States for six months in the fields of diagnostic and interventional bronchoscopy, lung transplantation, and sleep disorders.

Between 2004-2008, I worked as a specialist doctor at Private Mesa Hospital. In December 2008, I took my first step into academic life in the Department of Pulmonary Diseases at Başkent University School of Medicine. I received the title of 'Associate Professor' in 2012 and 'Professor' in 2018.

In 2013, I was certified with the 'European Diploma' in Pulmonary Diseases. In 2018. I got the certificate of lung transplantation from the Ministry of Health in Turkey and became a lung transplantation specialist. I am currently working in the Department of Pulmonary Diseases at Başkent University School of Medicine.

My areas of interest include the treatment of sleep apnea, advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy, asthma treatment, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),pulmonary embolism, lung transplantation, and interstitial lung diseases. I have been running since 2018 and performing as a triathlete since 2021. I have taken singing lessons and love to sing. I am a mother of one child.
